The gray goo scenario was once relegated to the depths of science fiction. But after a scientific breakthrough gone horrifically wrong, it was on the verge of becoming a reality.
Suddenly faced with this extraordinary threat, humanity scrambled to respond. Would they be able to defeat the synthetic superorganism seeking to engulf their world? Or was life on Earth about to come to an end?
This is for the "Harmonic Future" theme for the contest, although not in the way one may think at first glance for the theme. You will see why down the line.
This will be a miniseries, probably not enough to meet the word requirement, but something I felt like creating regardless.
New chapters will likely be released weekly, although other obligations, such as schoolwork, may get in the way of that. It also may not be complete by the contest deadline.
