Story takes place in a post apocalyptic settings where the world is run by these creatures called "Fragments". They contain small pieces of memories of the pre-apocalyptic world hence the name "Fragments". They are also the source of a magic that was used when they conquered the world. But the way they use it is at the lowest and the most basic form of this magic. The humans also use that technology against them but only a few can use them.
