This novel does a great job at worldbuilding with a futuristic, dystopian vision of Paris, and a host of different kinds of monsters infesting it.
The two heroes, working apart for most of the novel and only joining forces for the last epic battle share many similarities while at the same time having significant differences, complement each other in their fight to save humanity.
The novel pays homage to the mecha genre, checking a lot of the boxes, but also breaking some molds to create a distinct and memorable experience. All in all - a great read!
