Robot Catgirls Philosophizing on the Moon! is by far author, lolitroy's magnum opus. I'll admit, things were a bit slow in the beginning, but that's not always a bad thing, especially when the story only gets good from that point onward. The "Isla Gray" arc as I dub it is what really made me fall in love with this work. Stella's character moments with "Bob", as we'll refer to him here to avoid spoilers, are easily some of the highlights of the series. In fact, the downtime moments where characters have heart-to-hearts with one another are easily this series' biggest strength. That isn't to say the story is without flaws, as there was a specific chapter I was able to declare the worst in the story, and not simply by default. But despite that chapter, the writing bounced back.
While this review is mainly spoiler-free, there is one thing I do feel I need to spoil, and that is that this novel is not about Stella opening a coffee shop and having the story take place from there, but rather, it's the journey of getting the coffee shop in the first place. The author of this novel revealed via commentaries that the former was actually the original vision for the story. However, I believe the story we got is far better than what the author's original vision of it was. This is a unique masterpiece that only lolitroy could write, and I can't recommend it enough.
