The year 2999 will go down in the history books as one for the ages.

In a futuristic world where the problems of the past have been solved, Zipper Chute - who you could perhaps call a "bum" - realizes she still has one: she has no idea what to do with her life. The realization sends her on a quest to find meaning that takes her from Saint Francisco to the Gliese 570 star system, from Chicagoland to Neo-Neon Tokyo. Along the way, she'll cross paths with Great War otaku, Martian pranksters, hot sauce nihilists, monkey-butlers, and pie smugglers, just to name a few. Many face the same struggle. Many will reach different answers.

As these various quests collide and become entangled with one another, the stakes begin to rise, with far-reaching consequences for a world looking towards the coming 4th millennium...
