In 2107, humanity's numbers dwindled to just 10,000 survivors after the catastrophic 21-year Great Mechanical War.
Though the war ended with the help of Akasha, the first sentient AI, the cost was immense, leaving the world desolate.
Under Akasha’s guidance and with thousands of machines at their side, they launched the GRID project, creating self-sustaining, autonomous cities.
However, survival alone was not enough. With the population aging and lifespans capped at fifty years, Akasha calculated a high risk of extinction.
To counter this, humanity made a bold choice, genetic modification.
By altering the DNA of newborns, they created Neomans, enhanced humans immune to disease, with slowed aging and lifespans exceeding a century.
Now, 250 years later, in GRID 25, a major celebration approaches, held every five years. Rinares Nonus Prospera, the youngest protector of GRID 25 and a ninth-generation Neoman, prepares for what seems like an ordinary week.

This is my first venture into writing a sci-fi novel, and I truly enjoyed the experience. To all my readers, thank you for giving my short novel a chance. I hope it brings you as much enjoyment as it brought me while creating it.
