Synopsis

1895, New York. Fifteen years since the Union-Confederate Treaty.

A small ship from the Atlantic docks, carrying a frightened noble from Japan, clutching nothing but hope for the American Dream and a fear of God—blissfully unaware of a brewing storm heading her way.

Japan’s Magicks, once hidden behind walls of isolation for centuries, is terrifyingly powerful—something the Western world has never seen. Such power does not go unnoticed. Especially one involving Kitsune.

Scholars see her as a once-in-a-lifetime specimen to study. Gangs see her as a weapon. Bounty hunters see her as a means to an end. In a place where power is currency and magic is salvation, everyone wants a piece of her.

From the West, a Premier bounty hunter with aim sharp enough to keep her spirit uncorrupt and her heart beating wicked. From the South, a wayward werewolf, chasing redemption for star-spangled sins he cannot outrun.

Their shared desire?

A legend born in the City of Opportunity.
