I had a lot of fun reading this. The characters are all lovable fuck-ups and very believable. There's a lot of little details that stack up. Even Lev, who I initially took as kind of a heel, got very sympathetic as we learnt more about him. Poor kid, seriously.
The comedy's great, every other paragraph had some line that made me grin like an idiot. Even the heavier and more heartfelt scenes tend to have at least one genuinely funny bit that doesn't ruin the atmosphere. A lot of what seemed like one off gags even got callbacks (big fan of the shitty signs and their explanation)
I think the perspective switching was really well done, the character voices all felt unique and mostly consistent and it was fun to see these weirdos through each other's eyes and trying to make sense of each other's nonsense.
The worldbuilding is pretty cool, and the way it's integrated feels very natural. Narry an infodump to be found here. I was occasionally confused by one or two elements, though. There were also some scenes that I found hard to follow, particularly the first fight scene in the castle and one long dialogue scene (I think the one in the hot spring?).
The overall pacing is kind of breakneck, which is fun but does lead to some elements being underexplored/feeling rushed. I wish we could have spent a bit more time with Reem as a maid working alongside her wacky coworkers and slowly and awkwardly developing her relationship with her Boss. Obviously you were limited by the strict timeframe of the contest, but I do think there's a lot of material to expand on in the future if you wanted to. Either way, it ends up coming together quite nicely, and I'm pretty happy with the ending you gave us. I really like chapter 28, I think it's honestly quite beautiful and the fact that you landed the story there with some of the unhinged nonsense preceding it is kind of incredible.
Thank you for writing this story! 💚
