If you want to chill, to have a funny read, then scroll through the chapters of "I Prolonged the World's Demise by Babysitting a Kaiju" and it'll make your day. The narration makes it easy to follow the story, so take some jelly and let laughs drive you all along.

The story itself captures all along the essence of anime, for that I find it extremely well done. The classics are there all along the chapters, all respected. From kaijus to the classical gags, and the typical Japanese setting elements ( food, festival, school theme,... ) all is there, perfectly mixed together.

A strong point of Same's story is her characters. With a diversified cast, the reader is entertained by various personalities ( a grumpy grandma, the cheerful MC's best friend, a tsundere, a kuudere-vibed lieutenant ). Even if some of the characters would welcome a bit more background, they are no less endearing, and the reader easily enjoys their ride at their side. Ryūka Tatsuhara, the MC, is well-developped and the plot benefits from the many secrets we have to uncover about her.

What I particularly appreciated is that the story is not solely funny. Beyond the comedy, there are also more heartfelt moments which may allow to relate to the characters. A few moments of melancholy only make the comedy more valuable to my eyes, more realistic without breaking the fun.
