One day, while exploring various stories on Honeyfeed, I had the good fortune to click on this book – and that was honestly the best thing I did since I signed up! 😍
This book is a masterpiece that blends romance, adventure, humour, and even tragedy seamlessly and beautifully. This book is gold. Every page sends a fuzzy, honeyed arrow right into your heart and stays there; you root for the hero and heroine from the moment they are introduced to the very last line. ❤️
Cael and Val, the main couple, don't just have cute rhyming names; they are soulmates made for each other, and every moment they spend together is a delight to read! They are adorable, they are hilariously awkward; but they are also vulnerable. They are lonely.
That brings me to the the title of this book, which is a lovely and apt one: Mismatched Words in a Lonely World. (Note the rhyme here, again! ^^) The heroine lives in a world without her mother, without anyone at all. The hero lived in a world which was filled with countless people, but not a single one who ever cared for him or loved him. What happens when these two beautiful but lonely souls meet? This story! A perfect love story, which shows that with a sincere and loving heart, any boundary can be crossed.
One main highlight of this story apart from the romance itself is the slice of life element, and the world building. A few chapters in, I began to feel like I, too, was living in Val's world, day by day, season by season. It was beautiful. The descriptions really made me see each lovely detail, without becoming burdensome to read. I also like how even though there's an obvious ongoing conflict throughout (the mystery of that world, Cael and Val's budding romance, whether Cael could be returned or not, Val's mother, etc) many of the chapters focused more on their everyday life with ordinary moments that felt special; just friendship with a tint of love, laughs and comfort and homely bliss in the backdrop of a natural landscape – very Ghibli-esque. 💚
Last but not least, I think the humour deserves a special mention. At every chapter, I was literally giggling out loud throughout, it was so cute and funny! Val's frustrating but entirely innocent slip-ups and Cael's awkwardness and obvious shyness were the most adorable things ever! I think it must have been really hard to pull off this sort of thing, but the Author succeeded throughout! ❤️
I also want to add that I really like how innocent the romance was! Despite the couple living together and having obvious feelings for each other that only grow stronger with time, they never exceed the boundaries of decency! The few times they do, it is done unwittingly, and they get SO flustered that us readers find ourselves with secondhand embarrassment! 😆
Overall, this book was a masterpiece, and it's going in my favourites! It's the sort of book I would like to reread each season, it's that good! ❤️📖 If you're a new reader thinking of checking it out, please, go right NOW and read the first chapter, and find yourself in Val and Cael's magical world and perfect love story! You won't regret it! ✨️
