I adored the Novel, I've already said this many many times, but the character development proved it over and over. Over and over Ive been proven, by different scenarios that you can make even a library scene interesting with the lore.
Hell I read all of it, essentially, in one sitting, and I don't think anything I've ever read has caught me this much. The Heartwarming scenes, made me happy, smile and the sad scenes made me genuinely sad, or gave me gutwrenching feelings.
Hell I'm still thinking of the Scene towards the end, it stuck with me over the past 3 hours, that's how much it genuinely impacted me, and I dont think thats gonna change anytime soon.
I love how over the span of the Novel you can tell how much Elisabeth actually has changed, how much shes come to accept herself, the situation shes in, and how much I as a reader, started to relate and adore Elisabeth as a character. Not the speak of the other characters, such as Marie, who I believe is a fan-favorite, her softspoken-ness, and later on her more stern-ness truly showed how much she cares for Elisabeth.
Finley as a character was also beautifully written, a shy, quiet guy, who's really passionate about his interest in magic, his interest in its history, and later on, very obviously, in Elisabeth. And though it seems obvious to us as the readers, this wouldn't and isn't as simple to recognize for Elisabeth in the moment. I think anyone who's been in a similar situation can relate to that on such a deep level lol, hell no matter how obvious the hints are, we as humans are oblivious as frick at times, and this is so perfectly portrayed here too.
Not to speak of my absolute GOAT Diana, I love me a tough character with soft feelings, like, yes id also be a little insecure if a total newbie to magic outdid me strategy wise, but fuck I love the dynamic between all these characters, and I HOPE we get to see more of them, somehow somewhere.
I cannot state enough how much I enjoyed reading this, how great of a read it was. PLEASE Keep up the amazing work <3
