Martin is a young teenage boy that secretly joined the crew of a portuguese vessel that sailed to the East. The boy was seduced by tales about the wonders of oriental civilizations that his grandfather used to tell him and desired to scape a poverty ridden countryside. However, a storm dragged the ships out of their destined route and the sailors feared that the winds would blow them to the great abyss. They did fall in the abyss, but instead of death, monsters and devils, they found a new land, full of natural beauties.

At this new land, the crew was captured by native peoples and Martin met Moeka, the daughter of the tribal chief. Though their connection seemed to be progressing slowly, the young couple is suddenly surround by greed and political struggles that endangered their relationship.
