This is my first review, actually. There's a lot to say about this novel but I'll keep it relatively succinct. First off, the characters were extremely well written. I'm normally not the biggest fan of 1st person perspective light novels specifically, only cause I struggle to find myself enjoying a lot of main characters, and can't relate. But Taka was relatable, his inner dialogue both realistic yet still with that unmistakable anime feel. He was easy to root for because of that, and I found myself sharing in his feelings for Megumi as their relationship progressed.

Another thing that I really liked was his best friends, it's very easy to avoid fleshing them out, especially when on a time crunch for the contest, but bxnwin did a great job and making them move the story along with their actions instead of just having them there as comedic relief or otherwise.

If you like character growth, this is top tier as far as romance goes.

I highly recommend reading, and I hope this goes deep into the contest!
