Jovi Halcyon was a village boy who was always bullied because he was born to a mother who had no husband—pregnant out of wedlock.

Jovi started a new life in the city.

In his new life, he was unfamiliar with magic, as magic was traditionally passed down through heirlooms in families—such as swords, daggers, krises, and other sacred objects.

But Jovi experienced a rare phenomenon: he was able to use magic even without an heirloom.

Although he had excellent control, wind magic was still considered weak because it lacked significant impact when used.

There were no legends that spoke of any heirloom especially suited for wind magic.
