Fifteen year old Elise loves silence, she's unwilling to talk to friends and her teachers. Every afternoon, when the sunlight pools in her overgrown garden, Elise begins to speak to the Sun. What starts as a quiet coping mechanism becomes a daily ritual: she sits in the same spot, facing the sun, whispering thoughts she can’t say to anyone else. When she meets Ronnie, a rough-edged girl who sells junk for cash and hides behind beer and cigarettes, Elise becomes convinced the sun can help her too. But as their worlds begin to overlap, Elise must face what it really means to be heard, and what it costs to reach someone who isn’t ready to be saved.
