Tired of the "perfect" isekai? Well a demon's here to grant your wish. Our Perfect Isekai World is Spoiled by a Demon Girl?! decides to tackle some of the typical tropes of the genre with morbid realism. Our three protagonists didn't find themselves in a new world, ready to start a new life, they sold their bodies to a corporation, and after entering sleep pods, who knows what happened to them. Now they're forced to serve a Demon girl in this new world.
This novel's greatest strengths are when it dives into some of the realistic aspects of the flaws of escapism. High praise goes to the enemies, who are robot drones which eventually develop self-awareness. It's rare to see robots in isekai at all, and these enemies certainly didn't disappoint.
One thing that did disappoint though was the ending. Instead of developing one of the main characters, the author instead decided to use said character as sequel bait for the next novel, ending the story off on an agonizing cliffhanger. This is especially grading considering it might have been possible to replace an arc with the arc for this character. Had this character had their arc shown here, this might have been something amazing. But for now, it is solid, but a solid story that could have been better had said character had their arc showcased instead of it being used as sequel bait.
