After killing the family's prized dairy cow in a freak accident, Jack is dragged into the mud and reborn as a dwarf in a fantasy world ruled by a milk-based economy. Here, farmers wield magic, but instead of mana, the bitter farm boy is given a unique skill which he must use to milk magic cow girls (and his shame) by hand... and it proves to be better than magic.
In a world where mana-milking is the norm and hard work is seen as barbaric, Jack's 'manual disability' becomes his greatest asset. With real-world farm skills, shame-fueled determination, and his moody cow-centaur companion, he must uncover why the magic cows are dying, and why only his hands seem to heal them... one squirt at a time.
This is my first novel and contest entry, so thank you for reading :) I tried to make a heartfelt tribute to growing up in a small, rural town, the pressure of responsibilities, and the weird things we carry in our hearts. Feedback is super appreciated! I hope you enjoy, and maybe even learn something 🐄
