Forty five year old gamer Paul Veran died of a brain aneurysm having just finished an otome game where he despised the player character, which he called, the most boring character he’s ever come across. To his surprise he was reincarnated in the world of the game as one of the five love interests, the Duke’s son Cedric Valatross. After receiving a computer-like HUD, he learns that he needs to get a thousand points by the end of his days at the magic academy to get a ‘good ending’. Getting together with the protagonist will net him the full one thousand points. Seeing as he’d rather die again then do this however, he finds another way. Becoming friends with random background characters nets him exactly one point each. With that knowledge, Cedric is on a quest, to make friends with one thousand faceless npc’s in order to completely ignore the protagonist. But along the way, he just might realize that mob characters are people too.
