To be the "Chosen One" is every kid's dream. For Mamoru, it was a reality. Gifted with incredible powers and a weird companion only he could hear, he spent his youth as world's sole protector.

But every gift has a purpose, and every chosen one has a role to play. When Mamoru is betrayed, stripped of his power, and killed, he learns his role was never to be a hero.
