I will begin this review by saying that this was a beautiful story that dealt with its themes well. Hope, love, and the struggles of both are foremost in the narrative and permeate into everything that happens. It was something that I personally enjoyed reading, even with the looming melancholy and gloom.

The worldbuilding came alive and was easily one of the best parts of this story. It truly felt like a lived-in place with various peoples and beliefs. And even if many of the details could easily be lost in the grand scheme of things, just having them there help reinforce the stakes and what our main cast are fighting for. The descriptions of the various places like the cities they visited were well-executed as well. It made me immediately think of the Lord of the Rings.

The characters are personalized well. Much of them are internalized, but what we can see is enough to give a good understanding of who they are. The strongest characters are Rina (the main character) and Selene. Both of them do a good job when they're at the center of a scene. The rest of their party also helps round them out and challenge them in ways, especially Rina. I was consistently rooting for her to believe in herself and rise above the inner struggles she faced throughout the entire story.

I only have three nitpicks: sometimes there's information overload with how compact things were, the dialogue could be a bit more dynamic (most of the voices we hear felt restrained), and the ending was abrupt. I would've liked to see a more detailed conclusion than how things ended.

Overall I enjoyed reading through this tale. Even though it reads less like a light novel and more like a traditional novel, it was executed well. I would recommend this to any fantasy or yuri lovers out there. Give The Sun Will Rise Again a read!
