Twelve-year-old Bibby is a girl with a boundless imagination, often seen as 'strange' by those around her. When a mysterious onyx orb she owns suddenly comes to life and swallows her, she finds herself thrown into a dream-like world where logic doesn't apply.

Introducing itself as the 'Orb of Elation,' the orb promises eternal happiness to whoever can catch it. Thus begins Bibby's relentless chase after an impossible promise, across surreal lands of ever-changing landscapes, talking mountains, chocolate rivers, and companions battling their own addictions.
