As some of you might know, I have high praises for the author's previous work, Mission: Love, so when I heard of this novel, I was eager to check it out. Comparing it to Mission: Love, I feel there aren't as many philosophical beats there, though this story certainly has a good number of them, especially with it being set in Hell. The vibe is generally very calm, with the characters spending their days entertaining Lucien's antics to try and get to earth. There is occasional tension, but other than that, the vibe is generally very wholesome.
The biggest flaw though is the rushed ending. While the concept of the ending could have worked well across multiple chapters, it's presented all at once, leaving a sour taste in the mouth of the reader. I would still recommend the novel, but the ending sours what could have been a really nice and calming story.
