Rayne Heida is a former polyglot who has mastered sixteen languages by the age of fifteen. She may be a language prodigy outside the four walls of her house, but inside, she is empty and grieving the loss of a loved one.
On the night of her sixteenth birthday, her house mysteriously catches fire, and she finds herself drowning instead of being burnt alive in a parallel world. There begins her journey as she discovers the secrets of an ancient language spoken by the Gods, creating conflicts among the people of Gregor. More than the external clashes, Rayne struggles with her internal conflicts of making new bonds and being trusted by others.
