Syrus, a genius theoretical physicist who has led a life full of regrets, accidentally creates a blackhole and potentially destroys the Earth. But to his surprise, he is alive and is falling from the sky in a world half-covered in gold. He meets a group of kids from a technologically advanced slum along with their caretaker, Luna, a mysterious Mage. He turns into an uncontrollable Mage because of the magical sun.
He helps the children in the slums while Luna helps him deal with his guilt of possibly destroying the Earth. Along their adventures, he learns to control his power, but trouble strikes in the mysterious other half of the world, which is eternally covered in darkness, and divided by a silver wall across the planet, ruled by a Vampyre king. Syrus faces vampyres, alien magi, and the King of Darkness himself, but as he finds out the truth of this world and Luna's part in its destiny, he is faced with an earth-shattering dilemma.
