Dragons and demons and birds, oh my!
When their families’ souls are unfairly stolen away, high school students Bina and Renko set off into the afterlife to get them back. Only, they quickly discover it isn’t Earth’s afterlife they’ve gone to.
They’re also, strictly speaking, no longer human.
The good news: Inheriting immortality comes with benefits! Incredible strength, mastery over the arcane, and an astounding resilience to death!
The bad news: Immortality is predictably frowned upon in the afterlife. Sort of mucks up the whole idea. Not to mention, there’s a bit of bad blood between the people of this world, and the Things that don’t die.
Stuck in a land of spirits, magic, and Death with a capital D, Bina and Renko must navigate a lovely island resort for the dearly departed—without ending up on the guest list.

This is my entry into the Kadokawa writing contest. Endlings is an isekai in the flavor of stories like Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, and Spirited Away. If you enjoy stepping into strange new worlds, a little supernatural familial drama, and the occasional sword fight to determine the fate of the afterlife, please come in and have a look around!
