Mak Meilin is a 18 year old secondary school student. Facing bullying and a broken family, she felt no attachment to life, no reason to stay behind.
After the sudden death of her only friend, Haokei, Meilin made a decision to leave Earth behind forever, throwing away any bit of hope she had left.
After leaving Earth, Meilin arrived at a world called Elysium. She was then introduced to this world of magic, joy, and powerful orbs. She learns about the most powerful orb—the wish orb, and by extreme luck, obtains one.
Unsure of what she truly wants, Meilin joins new companions on a journey to Hieron Shrine—the only place where a wish can be granted.
They face various challenges. The orbs corrupt. Friendships fracture. Doubts return.
Even so, Meilin continues forward—toward her wish, and the chance to choose a brighter future.
Petals of a Second Wish was written inspired by personal experiences, as well as the stories of those close to me. It was written with the hope of reaching people who are fighting a mental or emotional battle to remind you that you are not alone.
