Come on guys. Did you really not expect me to enjoy this story? It's a Bristol F.2 and its pilot being isekai'd. Of course I would enjoy that. But there's more to it.
This story was a joy to read. Every chapter had something new, something to make you think "Hey, what/why/how the hell?". It flows brilliantly, and the pacing is supreme. My attention span isn't amazing, and yet I took in every detail, and not just because it has planes.
The characters are beautiful. Haruki is a great balance between cautious and reckless, throwing an excellent variable into a story that without it would've been mundane. Same with the supporting characters - I love Anemone, she's so fun, not to mention Flare who's such a loose cannon you never really know what to expect. Of course, there are others, but these three are easily the most memorable. I can tell you, every time someone mentions an "anemone" my mind is going to fly back to this story.
My one and only qualm is that Haruki is a teensy bit more dense than necessary. Whilst a fair amount of flirting did go around, I feel like the romance aspect could've been deepened a little. However, this is a very, very miniscule issue and should not deter anyone from reading this book.
In conclusion, this is a great story told by a great writer, and is very unique. It was also, fun fact, the very first thing I read when I joined Honeyfeed. If you have any interest at all in aviation, this is definitely worth a read, and even if you don't, still check it out - it's captivating from chapter 1.
