First of all, the prose is genuinely insane 😭😭 this blows 99.9% of webnovels out of the water and it’s not even close. I usually don’t care for prose, but when the story is partially about seeing beauty when not programmed to do it, I find beautiful prose in a medium where you aren’t used to it to enhance that theme further.

Second, the characters. Jere. Jere i love you i love you jere ylfa i love you ylfa

Jere and Ylfa have one of the most realistic and cute romances i’ve seen 😭😭 Not in the circumstances, but in the stages of development. Starting off with discovery by Jere, because he didn’t know what these feelings were. And, in the same way, Ylfa discovered her love for Jere.
In the next part, they started to hang out with each other, and in a similar way to two people who are inexperienced, they became codependent. Both of them needed each other to survive, despite being some of the strongest beings physically. Jere slowly exhibited more and more human traits because of this.

And then, there was guilt. Feeling guilt for things you’ve done, even if accidental, if incredibly common and easy to skip over for writers. This guilt was multiplied by like 5x (both because of Ylfa’s hearing and Jere’s love for her).

And then, finally, there was communication. The step to solving a majority of issues with somebody you love is simply speaking to them. No matter what may be in the way, be it being deaf, being embarrassed, being angry or any other possible thing holding you back, communication is how to continue to love through hardship. Even if a bridge is sometimes needed, be it a child, a counselor, or anything else that can help people communicate, it will still fix it.

This, overall, is a story about finding love when you don’t know how to feel, and keeping it when you don’t know how to love. Through the catalyst of a human who both lost and regained his humanity, and a demon who both lost and regained her acceptance from other beings. And they regained those things from each other, through love.
