One.
From the start, I knew this story was different. I mean, a superweapon who is questioning his role without someone else doing it for him? A logical being who actually makes logical decisions? Yes!!!
Two.
For those of you who think that this novel is slow, or that it won't get you hooked, think again. Every chapter has a meaning, and not a little one, either. Every sentence is hand-crafted to give you just enough to make sure you're not lost, while also not info-dumping on you all the time.
Three.
But don't worry, my little action-seekers, you'll get your fill. There are still points where Jere kicks ass. I am also relieved to be able to say that the author didn't let the action get in the way of the story; not one bit. In fact, the action had many points where it drove the story forward.
Four.
The romance is a perfect, meaningful storyline that won't leave you with scraps. I was constantly shocked at how often I saw a new development. It made me want to go into the screen just to watch them be adorable.
Five.
The non-romantic plot is thankfully easy to follow. Everything in it made sense, for one (which is rarer than one might think). For another, some of the reactions of characters showed the depth of thought that the author put into this.
Six.
And that's the best part of this whole thing. The attention to detail that this author put into J-1 shows just how much he cares and adores this story. Every logical process, every character and their reaction. Every lead into the next plot point, and let's not forget the flow of the story. This dude somehow managed to put great descriptions that didn't take away from the scene!
Well, I survived J-1, and it was worth every second. What? Why did I count to six? Well. . .
Give J-1 a try and find out.
