On the end of his rope, an Amateur Ufologist makes one last attempt to contact an alien, but to his surprise he instead becomes one! Captured by the Stellar Sanctum, he and several hundred other human "volunteers" are conscripted into the Interstellar Integration Program, ostensibly a social program to help new species integrate into galactic society but in reality is a gauntlet testing genetic experiments in a controlled environment. Our plucky hero and his traumatized compatriots are radically transformed after their DNA is spliced with various alien races, and stranded on a perilous planet known simply as "Gordus". In order to escape, subjects must prove their worth to the Sanctum by accumulating "EXP" and earning new "Jobs", earning them employment and citizenship on one of the Sanctum Planets. As danger encroaches on those who once were human, the one known by friend and foe alike as "Spaceman" must decide between his humanity and extraterrestrial destiny.
