Noir? Meet nightmare~. Detective Mei-Ling figured her new, scrutinizing American partner would be the biggest case she'd crack, that is until losing sight of her in a misty Hong Kong alleyway in Kowloon. Before our faithful detective knew it, she was transported by a mystical cult of demon worshippers into the Makai--the infinite Demon World~! She awakens with a new hunger and a new nature: she's a vampire. Clinging to her past life, she begins to unravel the terrifying mystery of her arrival, one case at a time. Little does she know, the fate of the universe—and everyone Mei-Ling cares about—hinges on the lips of a beautiful kitsune~. Will she make the right choice~?
This is what I might call gothic nouveau. I spent a loooot of time crafting the way prose works, to maybe the detriment of being overly-descriptive, but I'm very happy with the outcome. There is a gradual change though, with a subtle narrative reason, if you might be so keen as to pay attention~. I ought to have spent more time on the cover, but I drew and colored it within the past few hours, so well, I hope it's decent enough for the time being.
