Aki is a pampered house cat who believes the world revolves around his two favorite things: a humidifier he calls the "Purr-iffier" and the flowers on the windowsill. His perfect life is ruined when his owner, Yuna, adds a hideous yellow flower to his favorite spot. Spurred on by this injustice and the dream of a better world, Aki escapes for what he believes is an epic adventure into the "Great Outside."

Dramatically facing down everyday obstacles like poodles and sprinklers, he follows an amazing floral scent to a supposed paradise. The hilarious truth is that his grand quest only took him to his neighbor's backyard, three houses away. There, he falls instantly in love with the neighbor's beautiful but snobby cat, who wants nothing to do with him. A panicked Yuna quickly finds him and takes him home, where Aki, undeterred, begins plotting his next adventure to win over the heart of the cat next door.
