The mystery of Adam is literally driving me insane!

Rating: 4.82 out of 5

I just finished catching up on Flesh is for Gods and I am actually screaming. You think you are getting into a typical sci-fi story about robots and war, but then Eytha just drops all this philosophical drama and mystery that makes you question everything. Satoru is such a mood. He is trying so hard to walk this fine line between his duty and his morals, and watching him struggle is both painful and addictive. It is like he is carrying the weight of the entire past war on his shoulders, and you just want to give him a hug.

The whole setup with the "war and terror caused by machines" feels so real. It is not just background noise; it actually affects how everyone acts. The way the world is trying to move past the horror but is still haunted by it is written so well. It gives the whole story this gritty, slightly depressing but hopeful vibe that I love. But the real tea is the character interactions. Asami is precious. I was reading the comments and everyone is debating about her programming versus her actual feelings, and honestly, I am on team "she has a soul." In Chapter 47 - Breaking Facade, when the theme of machines being more than their programming came up? I literally got chills. It makes you root for them even though you know society hates them. It reminds me of those old school sci-fi movies where you don't know who the real monster is - the robot or the human.

And can we talk about the "Adam" mystery? Who is he?! The suspense is killing me. The theories are wild - is it Satoru? Is it someone else? In Chapter 49 - Restored Soul, the author skipped the history lesson for the first time, and I panicked. It feels like a sign that something huge is about to go down. That history lesson format was such a cool touch to build the world without dumping info, so its absence is loud. It is these little details that make the story so immersive. You start paying attention to every little pattern.

The climax feels like it is building up to be a total tearjerker. I am scared for Satoru and Yuu. The tone is heavy, kind of like a dark anime, but it is so good. The title "Flesh is for Gods" sounds super ominous too, like it implies humans are just pawns or something. I don't know, maybe I am reading too much into it, but it sounds epic.

If you like stories that make you think about what it means to be human while stressing you out with secrets, this is it. The pacing is usually pretty steady with those history intros, but now that they are gone, I feel like we are speeding towards a disaster. 4.82/5 because I need the answer to the Adam mystery yesterday!
