I picked it up thinking it would be just another typical hunter story, but the dynamic between the characters is just hilariously chaotic.
First of all, the world-building is actually really cool. It starts with that whole backstory about the dragon and the humanoid figure battling over Kyushu 100 years ago, which totally sets the vibe. It’s not just "dungeons appeared, go fight," there's actual history there. But the real tea is the main team. The narrator (love him, he's so done with everyone's nonsense) is stuck working with Ms. Usagi and Daisuke, and let me tell you, the title does not lie. Daisuke is LITERALLY the most annoying hunter ever. There was this one scene where they were expecting him to have found some crucial info, and he just goes "Nothing" with a straight face, and Ms. Usagi almost punched him. I was dying of laughter.
The plot isn't just comedy though. The whole mystery surrounding Yu and Rina Takahashi kept me scrolling so fast. When they had to infiltrate the Bunker? I was actually stressed. The suspense during the optical camouflage scene was real—I was terrified the narrator was going to get caught by the guards. And the way the story balances the funny banter with serious moments, like the investigation into the "living mirage" or whatever is going on with the secret experiments, is super impressive.
Also, Ms. Usagi is a total girlboss. She’s scary but in the best way possible. I love how she keeps the boys in check. The action scenes are pretty solid too, mixing magic and modern tech (like the camo device) which I think is a neat twist on the usual fantasy stuff.
Honestly, even though it's a web novel and the formatting can be a bit raw sometimes (just ignore the wall of text, it's worth it), the story flows really well. It’s one of those books you can re-read just for the character interactions. If you like action with a side of headache-inducing teammates, you have to read this. 4.65/5 because Daisuke is annoying but the story is fire!
