Only those tuned in to the Sacred Current, the essence unlocked by taking an adrenaline rushing Leap, have their eyes opened to what’s hidden from everyone else.

After carjacking a sports car for a joyride around Tokyo, a wild police chase leads Kaito Sei to the top of a subway track, high above the city. As police are approaching on one side, and a speeding train on the other, he’s faced with the choice of giving in, or taking the leap.

At the same time, a secretive network of magic users known as the Yugen are trying to track down the disappearance of one of their members, a mystery that seems to play right into fate’s hands. They must oppose the Bureau of Quiet, the government branch of Current enforcers, and the Utsuro, the special task force of Morningstar vowers who exchange fear for power.

As these events coincide, Kaito’s involvement in this conflict deepens. But the stakes aren’t as black and white as he imagined, as fate takes as much as it gives.
