In ancient times, magic flowed through the lands where fierce battles between humans and monsters took place. Fast forward to modern times, raging beasts of mass destruction no longer roam the world, having either been slain or forced to coexist in secrecy. With science more advanced, mystic arcane arts and supernatural creatures are a thing most regard as myth.

Mikazuki Kuya is a social outcast who fully believes the concept of 'a nail that sticks out, gets hammered.' Spending his ordinary days sitting in a corner of the classroom, he resigns to drifting through high school obscured, much like the world's magical history.

But when he accidentally encounters a sophomore, Amanagi Mana, levitating sticks and stones in the courtyard behind the school building, it becomes the precursor for Kuya's ordinary days to become not so ordinary.
