I just finished reading this masterpiece and I am literally emotional wreckage right now. You see the title and think it is going to be some soft, fluffy romance about actors, but LunarPetal actually decided to attack my feelings instead. The whole concept of Sophie being this huge film star who is secretly lonely and Liam being a humble guitarist from a ranch is the perfect "opposites attract" setup.
Sophie is such a queen. I love that she isn't a diva despite being famous; her mom raised her right! And Liam? He is the definition of a green flag. The way he looks at her when the cameras aren't rolling made me swoon so hard. The chemistry between them during the filming scenes was electric. You could tell they were falling in love, but they had to keep it professional because of the paparazzi and that creep Aleksander.
The suspense isn't about explosions, but it is about the secrets they keep. I was constantly stressed that the media would ruin everything for them. The chapter "A Night Before the End" was absolute torture in the best way. Watching Sophie ride that horse perfectly for the final scene while Liam watched from the sidelines? intense. And that kiss! The author described it as "clinical" and "empty" for the camera, but we all knew it was breaking their hearts. I was screaming at my phone, "Just tell him you love him!"
The emotional climax when filming wrapped felt so final and heartbreaking. Liam using his music to cope with the pain of letting her go was such a beautiful, sad moment. It perfectly captured that "right person, wrong time" vibe, even if we are all praying for them to work it out.
If you love celebrity romances that feel grounded and angsty, you have to read this. 4.82/5 because my heartstrings are definitely loud right now.
