Behind the scenes of modern life, there is an ongoing war between people blessed with powerful forms born from their hopes and dreams - known as Choujo and Chonen - and the despair of humanity that manifests itself into monsters that can only be defeated by hope. This story follows four young adult women, all with their own reasons for fighting despair as a band of Choujo, on their journey to become the light that pierces through the darkness of the world.
