A gentle story with flashes of greatness

I really enjoyed this. At first, Takumi is a borderline sociopath which might be a little overdone and cause some to drop. But we know there is growth to come, and once blxssed settles into the story and allows Takumi’s deconstruction to begin, the story finds a few truly lovely moments. Some of the introspection is occasionally a little heavy handed, but it’s generally nice and quiet, giving the reader time to feel Takumi’s shift. There is no grandiose moment that causes the change, just a steady drip of character reveals and reevaluations.
I wish Yuna had more screen time and was expanded on, but she’s not a weak character by any means. She also doesn’t feel like she exists solely to help Takumi, as often happens. I just wish we got a little more exploration into all of her complexities, especially compared to the scope of Takumi’s detailing.
Grammar is spotty in some parts for sure but that can be fixed with effort and editing for future projects.
Blxssed has several moments of absolutely lovely detailing and prose that pop up on occasion, and I told them the funny thing is I found myself wanting more of that, and I mean that in the most complimentary way.
In the end, this is a brisk, pleasant read, if you can get past the character’s ego at the start. There are of course reasons why he is the way he is, and I enjoyed watching his growth and change. If I left the story wanting anything more, it was purely because I enjoyed the bits that I got. Definitely recommend for a light, quick read. I look forward to more from this author and commend them for a nice story.
