Fuyukage. Banishment Night. When the town's monsters, the shadowy Aberrations that plague it, stalk the streets in search of fresh prey.

For those brave enough, the night is a chance for all willing hunters, or Banishers, to prove their worth; and in doing so, possibly escape, at least for the most skilled among them, this decaying town for good.

Tonight sees a newcomer to town, a foreign transfer student, finding himself, without any reason he can see, the target of the most elite Banisher of them all: Himekawa Hikari.

When he is unexpectedly rescued by Hikari's own brother, and the ragtag trio of mercenaries he's hired (among them cowgirl Rina, gyaru Misa, and stoic Sakaki), the transfer student is dragged along for a one-night odyssey into the dark heart of Fuyukage. The only other souls about, those who have chosen to Banish.

With both Aberrations and other Banishers hot on their tail, not to mention Himekawa Hikari herself …

Will they ever see sunrise again?
