Kisaragi Shun, son of a prominent politician, has lived in a perpetual state of capture--always chased by reporters, photographed by journalists. While praised for his stoicism, he feels hollow behind his polished exterior. One stormy morning, seeking refuge from the rain, he hurries into a neighborhood bakery tucked among quiet residential streets. The owner of the bakery is Fujimoto Koharu, who inherited the shop from her grandmother. Shun begins to return, at first for the bread and pastries, but soon for the conversations. He never reveals who he is. However, their private matters inevitably collapse when a photo of Shun leaving the bakery is leaked.
