Not enough space in the title, I wanted to say plot structure actually.
I am comparing this to those heavy, epic urban fantasy web novels that focus on the MC's past, the ultra complex world, and whatever other topics that people on youtube will farm lore explanation videos with.
Thing is, I enjoy this story because of the opposite thing.
It is the opposite of heavy, but that makes the light and fast pacing so fun.
The exposition will give you questions to the bigger picture, but the pacing is always gonna feed you.
There wasn't a moment for me in the first few chapters where I went "okay, one more chapter before bed, maybe they will explain the thing that is stuck in my mind finally. Oh, well, they just gave me more questions and now I am even more tired." It's the opposite, and that is a good thing web novels are lacking.
They think of the world and how to show it to the reader instead of making a good plot structure, pacing, or even understand what "show not tell" means.
But I digress.
