In a world divided between mages who have the power to wield magic and non-mages who cannot, non-mage brothers Huko and Kenta Kobayashi flee their poverty stricken town to the mage-exclusive capital city in search of a better life. When trying to survive in a city that actively hunts non-mages, the smart play would be to lie low, but of course that’s not what the brothers did. Younger brother Huko somehow gets enrolled in the city's most prestigious magic academy. Older brother Kenta lands a high-paying job… hunting down non-mages like themselves. As tensions between the mages and non-mages threaten to boil over and the brothers' lives become more tangled with those in power, they must use all their wits to come up with increasingly risky tricks to survive and avoid being hunted.
