Kenichiro has been (poorly) paid for his ability to notice patterns. He was an accountant for a Black Company, managing their declining revenue and their dwindling accounts. After experiencing what he thought was a mental health episode, he was promptly fired for breaking his work computer. As he descends into unemployment and poverty, he begins to notice a world he never paid mind to before. The homeless of Tokyo, who were once just a part of the backdrop of urban life, have come to the forefront, as Kenny realizes there is bigger world hiding just behind the corner.
