Melody is a legendary fairy criminal (and also a catgirl). Her target is Kenta Kimura, a seemingly normal teenage boy living in Hokkaido. Her task is to capture the boy and bring him to her employer in Tokyo.

It is suspected that Kenta possesses a powerful High Magic, an ability unique to each magical creature, which the mysterious Saber Rider (amongst many others) want to exploit for their own causes.

What none of them know, however, is Kenta could be the key to cleansing the world of The Gloom, a magical disease that has begun to ravage the planet caused by the misuse of "Natural Magic", the innate magical ability shared by most sentient beings. When Melody discovers this hidden power, she and Kenta have no choice but to go on the run... from basically everyone...
