The Philosopher’s Stone—an artefact capable of elevating any magic beyond its natural limits—has resurfaced. To claim it, magicians must enter a secret competition and hunt one another down, hidden from the world.
MAGI, the Magical Affairs & Governance Institute, exists to keep magic concealed. Only those born with magical talent are permitted to live within its society, where power is cultivated across generations. To expose magic to civilians is a cardinal sin, punished without mercy.
Among the competitors is Kusunoki Ren (楠 蓮), a magician dismissed by his peers for his weak power. Refusing to fade into obscurity, Ren has created the Ryukan (流環)—a device that allows him to turn ingenuity into a weapon.
Outmatched and surrounded on all sides by some of the strongest and brightest, Ren must survive a citywide war in Yokohama where raw strength isn’t enough—and being remembered may cost everything. Even if that means he may eventually battle the person that matters to him the most.

Hello, everybody. A bit of a shift from The Princess' Guide genre-wise, but I'm pretty proud of it. Chapter release will be sporadic at this time, as real life is very unstable for me right now, so I don't have as much time to write and edit as I would otherwise like.
This was originally intended for the Twilight Frontiers contest, but given what life threw at me, I will be unable to complete this in the entry period. Having said that, I believe enough in the work that I have done to see it done.
I apologize for the delays in chapters, but I hope you look forward to them all the same. I am proud of the story, and I hope that you enjoy it.
