Alexis Asigiri didn’t see herself as really any different from any other Japanese-American girl in Los Angeles, California: she was merely trying to make it at UCLA at 18 years old - and holding herself out as a crypto-zoologist!

That’s where she lost most people. Yet, she knew something that other people didn’t: two factions of dragons once ruled the Earth, with the base of their reactive powers being in what is now Japan! And the massive, thick-bladed, curved sword that was preserved in a black-red stained, bamboo box with a red velvet interior? It was infused with the soul of the good Dragon, Tetsuo!

They wasn’t all though - Alexis could speak to the spirit of Tetsuo, and read the long-firefighter proto-Japanese glyphs on the blade that presented his essence! And she knew that the best way to prepare for the coming apocalypse, the “Eternal War” as Tetsuo knew it, was to study the mythical dragons and other long-mythologized wrathful creatures who’d soon return to the Earth!
