Synopsis

A farmer's son is making a name for himself.
Armed with but a sickle, he defeats all kinds of magic beasts to protect humanity.
At least... that's what everyone thinks.
To be honest, Francis couldn't care less about saving humanity, he just fights those magic beasts to get closer to his dream of being a magician!

There is just one small problem...
Due to past strife with the tribe of dark elves, exiled from Kyushu, the first emperor of Lionhead enacted a law stating: ”Anyone within the empire using magic is regarded as an elf or traitor and persecuted as such.”
As if humans' nearly non-existent aptitude for magic wasn't enough of a hurdle!

Note from author

Hiya everyone, Iseee here!
First of all, I hope you enjoyed the story so far. This is my first-ish story, so please give some constructive feedback if you can. I hope to learn and make this and any future stories I write, that much better!

I'm saying first-ish because technically I am also writing a (currently unpublished) story about anthropomorphic ants.
When I saw this [Urban Fantasy] contest I had to join, but I didn't want to start migrating them to Japan, and changing the timeline for an earlier satisfying ending.
Compromising on multiple parts of the story to fit the criteria, just feels very wrong.

Enough about ants, back to this story!
I believe the ending I had in mind for season one is satisfying, but I do intend to write a second season after the contest ends, preferably with a little bit more leisure between the writing.

To finish in time for the contest I'll need to complete at the very least one chapters a day, so wish me luck!
