The setting sometimes feels confused, like this should have been just a period piece but it has some modern references there too, but that's a minor blemish. On the whole, I was often reminded of the short "The King of Pigs", along with "Little Shop of Horrors". Like it has the oppressive atmosphere of the former but the general progression of the latter.
When you were pitched a prompt that practically begged to be a parodical horror-comedy and knocked it out of the park as true horror, you have my respect.
