After washing up on the shore of a remote Norwegian village with no memory of his past, a nameless man is haunted by a mysterious entity from Norse mythology known as the draugen. Secluded and treated with suspicion by the superstitious residents of the village, the man seeks to uncover his past. As fragments of his memory return, the draugen's torment pushes his sanity to its breaking point, leaving him wonder if maybe some things are best left buried.
